Dry Mouth

dry-mouth-adentaloffice

Causes?

Many medications, smoking, aging, autoimmune disorders are all possible reasons for the constant dry mouth.

Signs & symptoms

  • Bad breathe
  • Mouth sores
  • Cracked lips
  • Dry tongue
  • More frequent tooth decay

Complications:

A condition like dry mouth might seem like an insignificant issue. However, if left untreated it could cause the inflammation of tissue in the mouth. In addition, the beneficial effects of saliva are lost. Saliva helps prevent tooth decay and other health problems. The insufficient production makes one more susceptible to related diseases.

If you experience dry mouth often you need to see a doctor to detect the underlying effect.

Meanwhile, brush and floss twice a day to prevent the build-up of plaque.
