carrying-vegetables-adentaloffice

Eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating or compulsive overeating have a negative impact on oral health.

Prevention:
Surrounding your self with positive family and friends who promote healthy eating practices helps prevent eating disorders. Seeking help is critical as early diagnosis can greatly shorten the period of recovery.

Practises to reduce damage if you have an eating disorder:

– do NOT brush your teeth after throwing up, you need to rinse your mouth with baking soda to neutralize the impact of the stomach acid.
– Brush and floss twice a day
– Rinse mouth after every meal to rinse out food leftovers
– Visit dentist regularly
